Short-Term Disability (STD):
PUSH provides eligible full-time employees the opportunity to purchase short-term disability insurance. If you become disabled from a non-work-related injury or sickness, Short Term Disability (STD) provides a partial replacement of lost income of up 66 2/3rds of your weekly wages up to $1,250 per week for the first 90-days of a Sickness or Disability.
Example: Employee Earning $46,000 annually
- $46,000 Annual Earnings / divided by 52 Weeks = $884.62 per week.
- $884.62 per week X .667 (2/3rd ) = $590.04 of weekly disability income.
- $590.04 weekly earnings X $.36 Cents of Premium = $212.41.
- $212.41 / divided by 10 = $21.24 Cost per month

Eligibility: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 hours or more per week are eligible to participate in the PUSH Long-Term Disability Insurance. Coverage is available the first day of the month following 60 days of employment. If you do not enroll when first eligible for this coverage and wish to apply for coverage later, Evidence of Insurability (EOI) is required. You will be required to complete a health questionnaire for review by the carrier.
